Advantages of using the different information systems:

Most of the companies use information system so that it can support their operation, management, and to make better decisions.

TPS:


The main function of TPS is collect, store, modify, and retrieve the transactions of an organization. So it may help the organization to change to information and to knowledge at the end.


MIS:


It a system that provides the company with the Information needed to manage organization, the advantages of using MIS system is:

1. Companies can know what is their strength and weaknesses from the reports and employee performance records. Such information’s can help the company  to improve the operation and the process.

2. The information and the respond which they get from the customer can help them in knowing that if they are meeting their customer needs or not. This feedback which they get from the customers can help them in future marketing and promotion activities.

3. Companies can analyze consumer’s behavior and trends from the information they get from the sales and revenue reports.

4. It facilitate planning  by improving the quality of the organization by providing the information needed.

5. Minimizing information overload  by transfaring huge data to a summarized information.

6. It increase the coordinating between department be keeping them aware of the requirements of other departments.

7. It makes the control easier due to the improvement in the ability of management to evaluate the performance.



DSS:


Serve the management, operations, and planning levels of an organization and help to make decisions. The advantages companies get from it are:

1. Improve the efficiency
2. Faster Decision making process
3. Increase the control over the organization
4. Help automate managerial process
5. Problem solving in the organization is more faster
6. Create competitive advantage.


EIS:


It is used to facilitate and support the information and decision-making needs of senior executives by providing easy access to both internal and external information  to meeting the strategic goals of the organization.  The advantages from using EIS are:

1. Provide company at the needed time with summary information of the company.
2. The information provided is better understood
3. It filter the data for the management
4. More efficiency for decision makers
.

Disadvantages of using the different information systems:

Information system may not work properly all the time, after using a system for a period of time this system may become old and un appropriate especially if the organization become more bigger and grow.

So implementing new system is costly and some it will take time for some employees to be able to use the new system which required enough time for them to learn how to use it and that  may affect  customer satisfaction if they didn’t receive their orders on time,  a break down in system may affect some decision which should be taken for example if the data Is not true that can harm the processes of the company and the operation can be effected by it.



How information system can be enhanced:

First thing should be considered is that having the sub-system which can be used in time of the breaking down in the system so that can be more flexible for the company to use the information available which can help them in not losing all data or information . Also reducing complexity in using the system because some of them are difficult to be used and also by cutting some unnecessary function that can reduce the cost of implementing it. Updating the system is an important thing for the company due to its cost so if the system have the function that can update itself or notifying the user if there is any function which is not working well or if there is any new version of it that can help the organization to reduce the cost and  keep the operation efficient.
